Láttam, Hallottam ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and web platform (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address - Required for account creation and communication
  • Phone number - Optional, used for account recovery and verification
  • Password - Stored in encrypted (hashed) form; we never store plain text passwords
  • Authentication tokens - If you sign in via Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information from these providers

1.2 Profile Information

You may choose to provide:

  • Display name and username
  • Profile photo
  • Bio/description
  • City of residence - Used to show relevant local content
  • Date of birth - Used for age verification where required
  • User type - Individual or Business account

1.3 Business Information

For business accounts, we additionally collect:

  • Business name and description
  • Business address and contact information
  • Tax identification number (for verification purposes)
  • Business category and operating hours
  • Business logo and images

1.4 Location Data

We collect location information in the following contexts:

  • City selection - Your selected city determines which local content you see
  • Event and listing locations - When you create events, deals, marketplace listings, or report lost items/pets, you provide location data
  • Pet sighting reports - When reporting pet sightings, precise location helps reunite pets with owners
  • Business locations - Business addresses are used for maps and distance calculations

We do not continuously track your location in the background. Location data is only collected when you actively use features that require it.

1.5 User-Generated Content

Content you create and share through our Service includes:

  • Events - Event details, descriptions, dates, locations, and images
  • Deals and Discounts - Deal information, prices, terms, and expiration dates
  • Marketplace Listings - Item descriptions, prices, conditions, and photos
  • Missing Pet Reports - Pet descriptions, photos, last seen locations, and reward information
  • Lost & Found Items - Item descriptions, photos, and found/lost locations
  • Club Posts and Comments - Text content, images, and poll responses
  • Reviews and Ratings - Your reviews of restaurants and businesses
  • Messages - Private messages between users (end-to-end encryption is not currently implemented)
  • Job Applications - Application information submitted to businesses

1.6 Device and Technical Information

We automatically collect:

  • Device identifiers - For push notifications and analytics
  • Push notification tokens - To send you notifications you've opted into
  • App version and platform - iOS or Android, app version number
  • IP address - For security and fraud prevention
  • Usage data - Features used, time spent, interactions (anonymized for analytics)

1.7 Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card numbers or bank account details. We receive and store:

  • Last four digits of your card (for display purposes)
  • Card brand (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
  • Billing address
  • Transaction history and subscription status
  • Stripe customer ID for recurring payments

1.8 AI Interactions

Our AI assistant feature uses OpenAI's services. When you interact with the AI assistant:

  • Your messages and conversation history within that session are sent to OpenAI for processing
  • Relevant local data (events, deals, etc.) may be included as context to provide helpful responses
  • OpenAI processes this data according to their privacy policy

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Service Delivery

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Service
  • Show you relevant local content based on your city
  • Enable communication between users
  • Process transactions and manage subscriptions
  • Send push notifications you've opted into

2.2 Safety and Security

  • Verify business accounts
  • Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and community guidelines
  • Respond to legal requests and prevent harm

2.3 Improvement and Analytics

  • Understand how users interact with our Service

  • User-generated content - Retained until you delete it or your account; some content may be retained for legal compliance
  • Transaction records - Retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance
  • Marketplace listings - Auto-expire after 30 days; can be renewed by user
  • Messages - Retained for the lifetime of the conversation; deleted when both parties delete the conversation
  • Analytics data - Anonymized and retained indefinitely for aggregate analysis
